Happy Birthday weekend

We had another sunny weekend of celebrations. Tom turned 31! From me, he had a Tacoma-themed birthday from a local store called Bleach, in Tacoma. First there was the shirt with the Tacoma dome that doubles as an umbrella.

Then the shades that sport he Tacoma skyline on the stems.

Of course, he couldn't sport his new gifts to the main event of the game: the Husky game. We found the Cravens set up in a new spot this week--right off the Montlake Cut. It was a tailgate fit for the Nortwhest complete with a giant salmon filet that filled the entire Weber grill.
could it get any more picture perfect?
I mean look at that filet!
As if the filet wasn't enough, we covered it in Alaskan King Crab and subsequently topped with a Béarnaise sauce.
The alumni band joined us at the site and serenaded us with a rendition of "Tequila."
Once again, we found ourselves in the sunshine in the student section --decked out with some bling thanks to Diana who gave us the beaded W's.
The football fun continued today as we joined the Glassman clan for some home-made pizzas and Seahawks football. Tom was in his element with all the toppings that Ann had so graciously prepared for all of us.
 Look at the masterpiece!
Then the three candles, the "past, present and future", were blown out by Tom and Diana to ring in another great year.
And Tom was blown away by the generous new gift, something he had been wanting for a long long time: a Surface Pro.
This week I begin my "chronic care" rotation-- spinal cord injury rehab at Harborview. It will bring about a lot of new challenges but I look forward to having LIVING patients. And, I'll be trying to find a way to use up all the remaining zucchini from my garden!
