New year, new goals -- sadly no blog posts.

It has been a LONG time since I posted a blog update.

Life has been crazy. I matched into GYN oncology fellowship then went into a string of rotations in residency and shifts on call on the nights/weekends that left me feeling unmotivated to do anything other than write a blog post.

Some highlights from the past few months:

November
- We got spoiled again by Nanna and Pappa who came to join us in Rhode Island for Thanksgiving.
- We hosted our "residency family" at the house
-  - Adler continued to love swim class more and more and advanced her skills
1- We welcomed a new residency baby, Amelia (Mila), the new addition to Meri and Jimmy’s life
-  - Ali turned 3 and we celebrated with a donut party
 - We cut down our Christmas tree as a family, and Adler LOVED it. She couldn't stop singing Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer all season

December
- I was on the high risk OB service with tons of high stress patients and acuity
- Adler got to meet santa for the first time, and it turns out she was scared of him
- Adler got her first "school photos taken"
- We got to go home for our first vacation in FAR TOO LONG to Montana. We had a splendid 10 days there

January
- Adler turned TWO! We had an at-home pizza and ice cream party where we made our own personal pizzas and ice cream sundaes. Adler got lots of gifts, including some new cowboy boots for our upcoming life in Houston, TX!
- I took my residency once-yearly exams to maintain my status and ChiFong and I celebrated by going rock climbing after finishing our test

February
- Adler continues to grow her friendship with Ali, and they are becoming best buds
- Swim class, the zoo, and the children's museum continue to be a big hit
- Tom took the bar exam in Austin, Texas while I single mom-ed it with the help of Julia who assisted in some of the pick up and drop off of Adler
- We keep trying to potty train and it ends up with her sitting on the big girl potty reading a book, but not actually peeing.... she's got us trained ;)

March
- We spend as much free time as we can with our "RI family" over at Chi and Karen's house so that Ali and Adler can play and Willow gets in on some snuggle time
- We've ventured to Mystic aquarium in Connecticut as the start of our ever-growing bucket list of things to do before we leave RI
- Adler's hair is getting SO long, but we haven't gone so far as to cut it yet

And that brings us to the present day. I make NO PROMISES that a blog post will follow any time soon, but I hope to make it a monthly thing like it used to be...times just get busier and busier these days.

Next up: crush out another 3 months of residency before Graduation from residency in June. Then comes preparing ourselves for the biggest move of them all, from the smallest state to the (almost) biggest one.

Sending love from RI!
