After the protests and riots on the streets of Seattle on May Day, we were happy to wake up to the sun and calm on May 2nd. We studied most of the early morning and then took a break to head down to the Montlake Cut for the annual Windermere Cup.
We parked in our usual spot for volleyball games and enjoyed the walk through the nature reserve behind the stadiums to get to the waterfront.
The sun was shining, the boats were lining the cut and we were just so happy to be outdoors taking it all in!
We got prime seating in the "Dawg Pack" section, right at the finish line.
We got to watch the final 4 or 5 races with the varsity crew teams. Sadly, the men's crew team lost their cup race to New Zealand. Which, if my memory serves me, is the second year in a row that the mens team has lost he Windemere cup. But the women's team crushed it!
We had to go back to hit the books before the official boat parade started, but on our walk back we got to see the military choppers do a fly by. This is the picture I got of them before the went behind the boat shell house.
Next week is a BIG week for us. Tom has his final and I've got both a clinical one-on-one exam-like clinic day and my final exam on Thursday. Then we're set up to volunteer at the Brides Against Breast Cancer gown sale on Thursday evening, I'm getting inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society on Friday, we're celebrating Paul's graduation on Saturday and Mother's day on Sunday! Whew! What a week it will be!
