A time to celebrate

A lot goes on in the summer time! This weekend was full of celebrations -- Northwest style. We joined the whole clan out at the Dudley's home in Bremerton for Jim and Marcy's 50th wedding anniversary (Jim is Diana's uncle). In order to get to Bremerton we decided to take the ferry rather than drive all the way down to Tacoma and around.
We checked the ferry schedule online and the next departure was 2:05 PM. We arrived at the terminal at 1:36 PM only to find out that the next one was scheduled to leave at 3:00  PM....so we waited and waited.

Then, we got bored of waiting so we walked over to get an ice cream cone since it was hot sitting in the parked truck.

Then....the ferry still didn't leave. We aren't sure why the schedule online was wrong, or what happened, but we didn't get on the boat until 3:40. So much for arriving at the party by 3 PM when it was supposed to start!

But our wait was totally worth it. We were greeted with a lovely waterfront view and a totally Northwest ambiance.

We had some of the best salmon we've ever had--hand grilled over the outdoor fire pit!
The decor was adorably beachy.
The guests of honor, Jim and Marcy are on the far right of the photo.
And, we settled off the night with some amazing Loganberry cobbler!
Then, today we met up with Ann, Paul and Julia to celebrate Paul's 22nd birthday. We all felt old but we had a lovely time!
