Stethoscope ceremony

Today marked the first day of my career, commemorated by a stethoscope. Typically med schools have a white coat ceremony at this time, but UW reserves that honor for after you've earned it-- i.e. after you've passed the basic science courses and your board exams -- and you are about to step into you clinical clerkships. I really like that model as much as I was totally planning on posting the stereotypical white coat photo on Facebook :).

Thanks to John, Diana and Tom for being there to support me in person and for all of my family who couldn't be there for supporting me from afar.
